Olaf Horstick (Chair of the Board) is a Professor at the Heidelberg University and Director of Teaching at the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health. He is a member of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Subgroup on Monitoring and Evaluation of Neglected Tropical Diseases at WHO, of the Advisory Group for the WHO Learning Strategy and the Technical Working Group on Dengue at WHO. Dr. Horstick serves as an Associate Editor of PLOS NTD. He has more than 25 years’ experience in global health at the local, national and international levels, including WHO, GIZ and academia.

George Shakarishvili (Executive Director) is founding Director of the Tbilisi Institute of Global. He led the World Bank-supported Health Reform Project at the Ministry of Health of Georgia and for the last 20 years has been a global health practitioner with employment at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, the World Bank in Washington, DC, the World Health Organization and the Global Fund in Geneva. George holds MD, MPH and PhD degrees from Tbilisi, Boston and Oxford universities respectively. He has authored the first Georgian Textbook of Global Health.
