Olaf Horstick (Chair of the Board) is a Professor at the Heidelberg University and Director of Teaching at the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health. He is a member of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Subgroup on Monitoring and Evaluation of Neglected Tropical Diseases at WHO, of the Advisory Group for the WHO Learning Strategy and the Technical Working Group on Dengue at WHO. Dr. Horstick serves as an Associate Editor of PLOS NTD. He has more than 25 years’ experience in global health at the local, national and international levels, including WHO, GIZ and academia

George Shakarishvili (Executive Director) is founding Director of the Tbilisi Institute of Global. He led the World Bank-supported Health Reform Project at the Ministry of Health of Georgia and for the last 20 years has been a global health practitioner with employment at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, the World Bank in Washington, DC, the World Health Organization and the Global Fund in Geneva. George holds MD, MPH and PhD degrees from Tbilisi, Boston and Oxford universities respectively. He has authored the first Georgian Textbook of Global Health.

Erik Eik Anda is an Associate Professor at the Department of Community Medicine, UiT, the Arctic University of Norway. He has scientific expertise in the areas of epidemiology, reproductive-, environmental- and global health, as well as teaching expertise in public and global health with focus on epidemiology. Erik Anda is currently responsible for global health exchange program at the Masters and PhD level and two scientific projects: one related to register-epidemiology and global health in Georgia and the other a Norwegian national project on seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2.

Paata Imnadze is Scientific Director of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health of Georgia and Head of Public Health Department of the Tbilisi State University. Since 2014 he has been President of the Georgian Association of Public Health. Previously he served as Vice-President of Biosafety Association of Central Asia and Caucasus. Prof. Imnadze is a member of the International Health Regulations Emergency Committee concerning the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus.

Raushan Issayeva is Director of the Higher School of Medicine at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Previously she held the positions of Rector for the Kazakh Medical University of Continuing Education, Director of the Department of Science at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at the Kazakhstan-Russia Medical University and Vice-Rector for Research at the Kazakhstan National Medical University. Dr. Issayeva is recipient of the awards for “Excellence in Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan” and “Excellence in Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.

Mykhailo Korda is Rector of Ternopil National Medical University in Ukraine, where he also holds professorship at the Medical Biochemistry Department. He is a chairman of the Ternopil Regional Branch of the Ukrainian Biochemical Society. Previously he was a Visiting Professor at the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department of the Ohio University. Professor Korda is an editor of a number of scientific journals in Ukraine and Canada. He has authored over 400 scientific publications, co-authored 4 textbooks and received 40 patents.

Bente Moen is Professor of Global Health and Head of the Centre for International Health at the Department of Global Public Health and Primary Care of University of Bergen in Norway. She also leads the Norwegian Forum for Global Health Research as part of the secretariat of the Global Health Norway network. Dr. Moen is involved in research and training collaboration in Norway and with universities in eastern Africa. She has written over 225 original papers in peer-reviewed international journals, is the editor of several books on Occupational Medicine, and is responsible for a Massive Open Online Course in Occupational Health in Developing Countries

Natia Skhvitaridze is an academic faculty of the School of Health Sciences and Public Health at the University of Georgia. She is а member of the Consortium of Universities of Global Health (CUGH), The European Public Health Association (EUPHA) and the Norwegian Research School of Global health (NRSGH). Natia is an adviser to Director General of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health of Georgia, expert of Higher Education Assurance Committee for the institutions’ authorization of the National Accreditation Center under the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, and a member of the Coalition of Partners for Public Health at WHO Europr.

Assiya Turgambayeva is Professor and Head of the Department of Public Health and Management at the Astana Medical University in Kazakhstan. She is the author of more than 125 scientific papers, has trained 34 masters in Public Health, MBA, Nursing, 2 PhD doctors, and is an expert in educational and scientific activities at the National level. She has authored multiple educational programs in the areas of Epidemiology, Public Health and Environmental Management and Healthcare Management

Tetiana Yurochko is Head of the School of Public Health of National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” in Ukraine. Since 2012 she has been Professor of the Department of Public Health at the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine. Previously she was an Advisor to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on healthcare reform and an expert consultant to UNICEF and UNAIDS country offices. Prof. Yurochko is an author and co-author of over 100 scientific papers in the public administration of healthcare.
